Brunswick Stew Orders Now Being Taken

The Namozine Fire and EMS, Inc will be making Brunswick stew on February 17, 2018.  Once again we will be offering the stew at the low price of just $7.00 per quart.  This is one of the lowest prices around and as always we will have the same quality stew.

You can either pre-order your stew from any member or by calling 804-861-5891.  Pre-orders are only being taken until February 12, 2018 or until the stew is sold out do get your ordered today.

The stew will be ready for pick-up at the fire station between 8:30 AM and 12 Noon.  This is the last stew until November so stock up today!

Brunswick Stew Still Available

We would like to thank those who help us make the Brunswick stew this past weekend.  We have heard great comments back on the quality of the stew and had several folks return to purchase additional quarts.  

We still have a limited number of quarts that are still available for sale.  If you did not get a change this weekend to buy your stew please stop by the fire station at 3913 Pelham Street and purchase your stew today for $7.00 quart.

Virginia Department Of Forestry - 4:00 PM Burning Law In Effect

The Virginia Department of Forestry's 4:00 PM Burning Law is in effect from February 15 through April 30th.

 

 

The 4:00 PM Burning Law specifies:

  • No burning until AFTER 4:00 p.m. February 15 through April 30 of each year, if the fire is in or within 300 feet of woodland, brushland or field containing dry grass or other flammable material.
  • Fire shall not be left unattended if within 150 feet of woodland, brushland or fields containing dry grass.
  • No new fires set, no fuel added, or fire rekindled after midnight.
  • Law applies to campfires, warming fires, brush piles, leaves, household trash, stumps, fields of broomstraw and brush or anything capable of spreading fire.
  • The law provides for a penalty of up to $500, plus payment of court costs and fire suppression costs if the fire escapes.
