Not long ago we congratulated Firemen Cimburke, Jenkins, and Talbott for successful completion of the Firefighter I and II academy given by Prince George County. Now we look to further bolster our ranks with Dinwiddie County's Fall Academy. Company 4 has several members in this new recruit school and we want to wish them the best of luck. This is a substantial time investment for these folks. The school includes not only a Firefighter I certification but also a Hazardous Materials Operations certification. This year's curriculum is extended to meet state guidelines and involves nearly 200 hours of class and practical exercises.

Please join us in wishing them luck at successfully and safely completing this rigorous process.

On Saturday, September 19th, our company participated in the firefighter competition in Brodnax, Virginia. In addition to simply having a good time and a full day of fellowship, we are very proud to say that we won for:

Best Brush Truck
Best Tanker/Pumper

and placed second for:

One Man Hose

We would like to thank the Brodnax VFD for a fun day and the hospitality that was shown to all departments. We look forward to next year's event and hope to see all of our friends back safely in 2010.
